Discuss your Wizzair Woes… Battle eachother by voting eachothers worst experience up or down… to winner with the worst experience, gets to be read first!

NOTE: We have been receiving a disproportionate amount of GLOWING praise for WizzAir for a while now, some of it bordering on evangelism.  We are either witnessing the birth of a new religion OR WizzTeam has been up to some serious mischief.  Now, it is possible that this recent Crusade is genuine, however we think most Wizz-happy customers would go not go thru the effort of finding our little hate site or still further bothering to write 300 lines of bombastic praise on their days off.

But that’s just us… that being said… we love it, and we post it all.

I’ll be flying with Wizzair tomorrow. After reading about all these bad experiences I would want to ask you to wish me luck and a save travel. If they only knew how much I hate Wizzair already.. :’)

today i wanted to make a change of my flight with wizzair. i payed wizzair flex in advance. so this means: i don’t have to pay for changes except if the changed flight will be more expensive. so i was rather astonished, that they charged me 24 euros extra for changing a flight to a cheaper one. when i called the hotline, they explained me, that i only can change to a more expensive one or to one at the same prize. when i gonna change to a cheaper one, they will charge me extra for that!
sounds rather unfair. so i checked up in their contracts: nothing written like this.

this is just the worst company i ever flew with.

    Moi Drodzy,

    Hey Guys,

I’m trying to sue Wizzair since they left us stranded at Madrid airport last year. We gave the whole thing to a lawyer, but they just got everything they posted to the official address in Budapest back with a notice saying “this address doesn’t exist”!!!! Does anyone happen to have a current address for Wizzair or has anyone else had a similar experience?

    Wizzair seriously sucks!

    Hello,
They had an “offer ” for poor Romanian people: Only in 5-th January the cost is decreased with 20% , any flight, any destination, and so on.
At 17.50 the price for Timisoara - Valencia was 199RON ( on June, last third) and at 18.00 the price increased with 30%.

This means a low company not a low-cost company.

Only to realize that seconds later on attempting to book the same tickets we were looking at- they were now 100 pounds more then the original price! So now we paid 25 pounds for nothing as we can’t afford the new price…What should we do? The club fee is non-refundable apparently.

I am a frequent wizz user, and so far I could live with the value for money philosophy. I have a wizzaccount (the wizz-prepaid service) and it works fine BUT I now noticed that when i try to book a flight with my account from Kiev, the only possoble destination is London! When I want to book from Kiev without my account (normal booking) i can go to all the other destinations from kiev, e.g. Katowice, Dortmund etc.

In short, it seems that having an wizz-account reduces my options!

Is this normal? Does anybody have the same experience? Is there a way around this?

What intrigues me more is that the spelling on many of these posts are USA orientated spelling, especially “Travelers” or “traveling”
    Using just the one ” l ” instead of the two ” l “’s.
As wizzair is solely a European airline, it makes me ponder as to why ???

Shame on wizzair. I havent seen any airlines changing its prices so fast, suddenly. I wanted to buy tickets for Rome from Budapest yesterday for the end of january which is 2 months away. I checked the prices yesterday noon, made plans and in the evening when i wanted to buy the tickets, it was about 70 euro more. Are they playing with customers? And the other thing, currently on wizzair.com I see that there’s an ‘ amazing’ offer for one day. How tricky. Wizzair take the prices up one or two days before the ‘ so called’ discount, and then they say there is a amazing offer. if you are wizzair xclusive club member, there is 20 % discount . But at the end the prices are the same they were a few days ago. No discount at all, in fact in some cities, it is even more expensive with the ‘ discount’.

    Hello,

I have just written the following e-mail to Wizz Air. What else do you suggest me to do? I apreciate all the help.

«Last Thursday, on the 17th of November at 2.20 pm, I traveled with Wizz Air from Luton to Budapest, and when I was at the boarding gate, because the aircraft was going to be full and there was no room for all the hand luggage, I was told that my luggage was bigger and that I had to check it in. At first I didn’t quite understand, but on the stairs to get inside the aircraft a man from the staff took my baggage and then I watched him as he went to the back of the aircraft. I thought that everything was o.k. and made my way to the seats. When I arrived to Budapest, I opened my bag to take an hungarian SIM card to make a call and noticed that, despite all my clothes were in perfect condition and everything was ordered almost as I left it, all the valuable things were missing. Because my baggage was supposed to be hand luggage, everything I had was inside of it. What reason is there for the staff to open our bags after we’ve passed security and the boarding gate?! Inside my baggage I found only my clothes, toothbrush and books. Before, I had an envelope with 1000€ in cash that I was to give to a friend living in Budapest, some food I had just bought on Starbucks and my wallet, these were all missing except for the wallet, which was left only with unimportant cards and papers inside. Before, it had 15€ and some cents, this person or persons took every cent. If I wanted to check in, I would have brought these most important things in my jacket, but that’s something we passengers do just because, there’s no way anyone has the right to search and steal, this is a very serious crime since we pay for our tickets and trust the airlines our belongings. I know that if the luggage is damaged the airport will most likely give us a new baggage, but what if this person is careful and has time to search with no apparent damage? We get nothing back?! I have reported this theft to the police and they say they can’t investigate this, so we passengers are easily robbed and your staff has complete green light to commit crimes. When I was going back to Luton, last Sunday, again I had to check in my baggage and again it was opened, but this time there was nothing to steal. I know this because the zips from the inside of the bag were opened and everything was in a complete mess. I hope sincerely that justice will be made, that you find who was working on this shift and give me my 1020€ back (the money I had and the price of the food that was taken). I was told at the Budapest airport that mine was the 4th complaint in one month (of course this is a number of people who open the bags at the airport and complain immediately), all thefts in wizzair and easyjet flights from Luton to Budapest, were the staff is also the same. I couldn’t feel angrier about what happened to me and this serious lack of security.»

It has no need of insinuation or innuendo to slander and make a strong case that wizzair does, in fact, suck. There is no “innuendo.” However, you might need both of those new words in order make the case that it didn’t. Best of luck.

My Honest opinion (Just to state that i DO NOT work for the airline or i don’t get out much.)
I found this site because i had a problem with Wizzair.
I booked a flight for me & my wife to Budapest, yet inadvertently named her as “MR”
I tried to change it on line immediately after booking & it came up as a £68 charge to change it , bear in mind that this was £14 more than the actual flight cost.
This really got my back up so i googled “wizzair complaints” and found this site.
Having read through all the comments, i thought sh*t, no chance of sorting this out amicably so i needed to be armed with other examples from here.
One comment stuck out, how they had actually rang Wizzair & they sorted it out (wrong name) over the phone, free of charge.
I thought , yeah right, no chance but i gave it a go anyway.
I did not phone their 77 pence a min number to speak to an English speaking person,
I got this number instead from “saynoto0870″
08712657257, which is a lot cheaper.
I got through straight away but the language was in Polish.
Thinking it was just a menu, i pressed “1″ & somebody speaking in polish answered immediately.
As soon as i said English he asked what language i’d like, when i said English, he spoke fluently in English.

I explained my problem & he instantly sorted it out, there & then, as well as sending me an email to confirm that my wifes name had been changed from Mr to Mrs.

This all took less than a minute to do, He was so polite, courteous and very, very helpful & efficient.

I’m like a lot of people on here, i don’t take kindly to being “ripped off”.

But jesus, i can’t fault this airline at all,
I expected a battle yet it was so easily sorted out.

Im afraid you don’t have a case and Wizzair have done the right thing! I assume you was flying to London-Luton and going to connect there for your connecting flight to Lanzorote…

At London-Luton you are not able to “Transit” on to another flight when you arrive, you have to clear Immigrations and Customs in the UK and then check-in again for your flight Lanzorote.

This is a condition for nearly all Low Cost Airlines like Wizzair, Ryanair and easyJet, where you are not able to connect/transit on to another flight. You have to always clear Immigrations and Customs and have the appropriate documentation to arrive in that country.

If you had arrived in the UK without the appropriate visas from Serbia, you would have turned away, back to Romania and Wizzair would have been fined by the UK Authorities for not ensuring you had the appropriate documentation. Wizzair in this case were doing the right thing.

It’s simly a case you cannot transit with Low Cost airlines, and ALWAYS have to clear immigrations to get your next flight and must ensure you have the right documents to fly through that country.

I don’t understand you .They sent me at least 10 diferent ANNOUNCEMENT but not thet one about tranzit.I red everything and the only thing was that “you are entering the country in tranzit”.I was always entering another country and no need visa.I was traveling the whole world and never need visa to tranzit. They should emphasize that.I am never going to use wizzair and hope the company will not exist any more in the future.

f course it’s not Wizzair’s fault that you’re not familiar with rules and regulations … there is no “transit” with low-cost airlines, you always have to check-in again which means you’re actually entering the territory of a given country. I really doubt you “have travelled the whole world without visas” as people from Serbia usually need to have visas everywhere … Please don’t accuse someone for your own faults …

I have just come back from three ours drive from Timisora (Romania) from where me and my son should travel to Lanzarote.
I book flights over the internet site from Timisoraa to London (today at 6am),from London to Lanzarote (today at 11 am)) ,and then back from Lanzarote to Madrid on 4 novembar , at the and- from Madrid to Timisoara. The whole trip was 760 EU.Two of those flights were supposed to happen over the company of the Wizzair. Two of flights should have been with Raynair. Wizzair just did not let me travel to London becouse I have no viza to UK.I told them that we are in tranzit but they did not listen.
I SAY NOW: i WAS SAVING MONEY TO TRAVEL WITH MY SON TO LANZAROTE(SPAIN),I DID EVERYTHING THAT THEY ASK ME TO DO WHEN I WAS DOING MY TICKETS,THEY NEVER WRITTE ,ANYWHERE ,THAT PEOPLE IN TRANZIT MUST HAVE VIZAS.I AM THEIR CUSTOMER, I AM SUPPOSED TO BE THEIR FRIEND , AS MY CUSTOMERS ARE MY FRIENDS,AND BECOUSE OF THAT I HAVE MY JOB.
I CAN SAY THAT I AM HOPING THAT I NEVER HEAR OF WIZZAIR AGAIN ,I HOPE THAT GOOD SEES THAT ALL. I HOPE THAT ,BEHAVING THIS WAY ,ONE DAY WIZZAIR MIGHT STAY WITHOUT THEIR FRIENDS–TRAVELERS(HOPE THEY WILL) I KNOW THAT ALL THAT HAPPENED BECOUSE I AM FROM SERBIA,BECOUSE RASIZAM ROOLS THE WESTERN WORLD, AND I HOPE THAT EVERYBODY WILL READ THIS BECOUSE I AM GOING TO WRITTE THIS ON ALL SITES AND FORUMS I KNOW. WIZZAIR DID NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME WITH THOSE TICKETS SO I LOST EVERYTHING : I HAD BOOKED FOUR FLIGHTS, BOOKED HOTEL ON LANZARORE ,I HAD BOOKED TAKSI TO WAIT FOR ME AND MY SON AT THE ISLAND OF LANZAROTE.THE WHOLE AMOUNT OF MONEY IS 1000 EU. WHAT DO I HAVE NOW.I JUST CAME BACK FROM RUMANIA.YOU DESTROY MY AND MY SONS DREAM.
I NEVER WANT TO HEAR OF WIZZAIR .I USED TO TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD - NEVER WITH WIZZAIR .I IM GOING TO TELL EVERYBODY NOT TO TRAVEL WITH WIZZAIR BECOUSE THEY ARE UNPOLITE, RUDE , THEY ARE UNHELPING ,AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT PASSENGERS.

YES Ms.DOLIC you need visa for UK.And Serbia is on the list in UK in allllll your ways of entering TRANSIT,TOURISM,BUISNESS YOU NEEEED ENTRY VISA.And please do not mention here that this is the fault of wizzair. This is your inapropriate writing’s.IT IS YOUR PROBLEM NOT A PROBLEM OF WIZZAIR.ALOOOOOO…..It is a correct behaviour of the wizzair staff to the not let you on the plane to LONDON.Whay you did not bye TIMISOARA-MADRID-LANZAROTE-RT tickets??? Or TIMISOARA-BARCELONA-LANZAROTE-RT ??? Whay London ??? Sorry but my opinion is that your main destination is UK not Canary Island’s and someone else is more smart then you….

Next time think 5 times before to take a tickets,to do not spend 10.000 euro….

Did a little experiment this week: Just two days ago I booked a flight from Warsaw to London With Lot, and came to chec how much I would save fling with WizzAir (going on the fbruary the 21st) So baisc price shown is 269 zlotys. now I have to get a piece of luggage, another 90 zlotys, and a money transfer fee, 18 zlotys - total 377 zlotys. And if I wanted to check in at the airport it would be another 32 zlotys - total - 409 zlotys. And Wizz would get me to Luton, versus Lot’s Heathrow, so I’ll have to pay more to get to the city center.

With LOT I chose my Seat already - no extra fees. I can take luggage, I will heve more legroom & food will be served on board. I will enter the plane by a jetway, so no walking on the airfield, and no stairs. Oh and Airport Check in Of course

So! how much did I overpayed for these luxuries????

    ..
    .
    .
    .
    ..

Well, I payed just under 378 zlotys!!! :-)
